IPR001977

Description

IPR001977 is a Dephospho-CoA kinase.

<p>This family contains Dephospho-coenzyme A kinase (DPCK, [ec:2.7.1.24]), which catalyzes the final step in dephosphocoenzyme A (dCoA) biosynthesis, the phosphorylation of the 3'-hydroxyl group of ribose using ATP as a phosphate donor.</p> <p>The crystal structures of a number of the proteins in this entry have been determined, including the structure of the protein from Haemophilus influenzae to 2.0-A resolution in a comlex with ATP. The protein consists of three domains: the nucleotide-binding domain with a five-stranded parallel β-sheet, the substrate-binding α-helical domain, and the lid domain formed by a pair of α-helices; the overall topology of the protein resembles the structures of other nucleotide kinases [[cite:PUB00026419]].</p>

Associated GO terms

GO predictions are based solely on the InterPro-to-GO mappings published by EMBL-EBI, which are in turn based on the mapping of predicted domains to the InterPro dataset. The InterPro-to-GO mapping was last updated on , while the GO metadata was last updated on .

GO term Namespace Name Definition Relationships
Molecular function Dephospho-CoA kinase activity Catalysis of the reaction: 3'-dephospho-CoA + ATP = ADP + CoA + 2 H(+).
Molecular function ATP binding Interacting selectively and non-covalently with ATP, adenosine 5'-triphosphate, a universally important coenzyme and enzyme regulator.
Biological process Coenzyme A biosynthetic process The chemical reactions and pathways resulting in the formation of coenzyme A, 3'-phosphoadenosine-(5')diphospho(4')pantatheine, an acyl carrier in many acylation and acyl-transfer reactions in which the intermediate is a thiol ester.
