IPR033110

Description

IPR033110 is a ROD1, RNA recognition motif 4.

This entry represents the RNA recognition motif 4 of ROD1 (also known as polypyrimidine tract-binding protein 3, PTBP3), which is an RNA-binding protein highly expressed in hematopoietic cells [[cite:PUB00077728]]. It is a functional homologue of fission yeast Nrd1 and may be involved in differentiation control [[cite:PUB00077731]]. It also plays a role in nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) [[cite:PUB00077729]]. Several ROD1 isoforms can be generated by alternative splicing and translation initiation [[cite:PUB00077730]]. Rod1 contains four repeats of RNA recognition motifs (RRM).

Associated GO terms

GO predictions are based solely on the InterPro-to-GO mappings published by EMBL-EBI, which are in turn based on the mapping of predicted domains to the InterPro dataset. The InterPro-to-GO mapping was last updated on , while the GO metadata was last updated on .

GO term Namespace Name Definition Relationships
Molecular function RNA binding Interacting selectively and non-covalently with an RNA molecule or a portion thereof.
Biological process Regulation of cell differentiation Any process that modulates the frequency, rate or extent of cell differentiation, the process in which relatively unspecialized cells acquire specialized structural and functional features.
