IPR003385

Description

IPR003385 is a Glycoside hydrolase, family 77.

4-alpha-glucanotransferases ([ec:2.4.1.25]) belong to the glycoside hydrolase family 77 [cazy:GH77]. They transfer a segment of a (1,4)-alpha-D-glucan to a new 4-position in an acceptor, which may be glucose or (1,4)-alpha-D-glucan [[cite:PUB00009514]]. 4-alpha-glucanotransferases from prokaryotes are known as amylomaltases and those from plants, including algae, are known as disproportionating enzymes (DPE). Both belong to the disproportionating family [[cite:PUB00075631]].

Associated GO terms

GO predictions are based solely on the InterPro-to-GO mappings published by EMBL-EBI, which are in turn based on the mapping of predicted domains to the InterPro dataset. The InterPro-to-GO mapping was last updated on , while the GO metadata was last updated on .

GO term Namespace Name Definition Relationships
Molecular function 4-alpha-glucanotransferase activity Catalysis of the transfer of a segment of a (1->4)-alpha-D-glucan to a new 4-position in an acceptor, which may be glucose or (1->4)-alpha-D-glucan.
Biological process Carbohydrate metabolic process The chemical reactions and pathways involving carbohydrates, any of a group of organic compounds based of the general formula Cx(H2O)y. Includes the formation of carbohydrate derivatives by the addition of a carbohydrate residue to another molecule.
