IPR003672 is a CobN/magnesium chelatase.

This family contains a domain common to the cobN protein and to magnesium protoporphyrin chelatase. CobN may play a role in cobalt insertion reactions and is implicated in the conversion of precorrin-2 to cobyrinic acid in cobalamin biosynthesis [[cite:PUB00008140]]. Magnesium protoporphyrin chelatase is involved in chlorophyll biosynthesis as the third subunit of light-independent protochlorophyllide reductase in bacteria and plants [[cite:PUB00008141]].

GO predictions are based solely on the InterPro-to-GO mappings published by EMBL-EBI, which are in turn based on the mapping of predicted domains to the InterPro dataset. The InterPro-to-GO mapping was last updated on , while the GO metadata was last updated on .
