<p>Nup88 can be divided into two structural domains; the N-terminal two-thirds of the protein have no obvious structural motifs. It is, however, where it binds to Nup98; one of the components of the nuclear pore. The C-terminal end is a predicted coiled-coil domain [[cite:PUB00044407]]. Nup88 is over expressed in tumour cells [[cite:PUB00044408]]. This protein family includes human Nup88 [[cite:PUB00151910]] and similar eukaryotic proteins, including its fission yeast orthologue Nup82.</p>
