IPR033264

Description

IPR033264 is a BZR family.

Brassinosteroids (BRs) are essential steroid hormones that regulate plant growth and development [[cite:PUB00078651]]. This entry represents the BZR (BRASSINAZOLE-RESISTANT) family, whose members include BZR1 and BZR2 (BES1) from Arabidopsis [[cite:PUB00078650]]. BZR1 is a transcriptional repressor and a positive regulator of the brassinosteroid (BR) signalling pathway that mediates both downstream BR responses and negative feedback regulation of BR biosynthesis [[cite:PUB00016668]]. It interacts with REPRESSOR OF ga1-3 (RGA), a member of the DELLA family of transcriptional regulators that inhibits the GA signaling pathway in Arabidopsis thaliana [[cite:PUB00078287]]. BZR2/BES1 cooperates with MYB30 to regulate brassinosteroid-induced gene expression [[cite:PUB00078652]]. It also interacts with other transcription factors such as BIM1 and AtMYB30, as well as putative histone demethylases ELF6 and REF6 [[cite:PUB00075707], [cite:PUB00078652], [cite:PUB00078653]].

Associated GO terms

GO predictions are based solely on the InterPro-to-GO mappings published by EMBL-EBI, which are in turn based on the mapping of predicted domains to the InterPro dataset. The InterPro-to-GO mapping was last updated on , while the GO metadata was last updated on .

GO term Namespace Name Definition Relationships
Molecular function DNA-binding transcription factor activity A protein or a member of a complex that interacts selectively and non-covalently with a specific DNA sequence (sometimes referred to as a motif) within the regulatory region of a gene to modulate transcription. Regulatory regions include promoters (proximal and distal) and enhancers. Genes are transcriptional units, and include bacterial operons.
Biological process Transcription, DNA-templated The cellular synthesis of RNA on a template of DNA.
Biological process Brassinosteroid mediated signaling pathway A series of molecular signals mediated by the detection of brassinosteroid.
