IPR004769

Description

IPR004769 is a Adenylosuccinate lyase.

This family consists of adenylosuccinate lyase, the enzyme that catalyses step 8 in the purine biosynthesis pathway for de novo synthesis of IMP, and also the final reaction in the two-step sequence from IMP to AMP [[cite:PUB00017611], [cite:PUB00151518]]. It is a member of lyase class I family, which functions as homotetramers. The four active sites of the homotetrameric enzyme are each formed by residues from three different subunits [[cite:PUB00023841]].

Associated GO terms

GO predictions are based solely on the InterPro-to-GO mappings published by EMBL-EBI, which are in turn based on the mapping of predicted domains to the InterPro dataset. The InterPro-to-GO mapping was last updated on , while the GO metadata was last updated on .

GO term Namespace Name Definition Relationships
Molecular function N6-(1,2-dicarboxyethyl)AMP AMP-lyase (fumarate-forming) activity Catalysis of the reaction: N6-(1,2-dicarboxyethyl)AMP = fumarate + AMP.
Biological process Purine ribonucleotide biosynthetic process The chemical reactions and pathways resulting in the formation of a purine ribonucleotide, a compound consisting of ribonucleoside (a purine base linked to a ribose sugar) esterified with a phosphate group at either the 3' or 5'-hydroxyl group of the sugar.
