IPR011679 is a Endoplasmic reticulum resident protein 29, C-terminal.

ERp29 (also known as ERp28 and ERp31) is a ubiquitously expressed endoplasmic reticulum protein found in mammals [[cite:PUB00014099]]. This protein has an N-terminal thioredoxin-like domain, which is homologous to the domain of human protein disulphide isomerase (PDI). ERp29 may help mediate the chaperone function of PDI. The C-terminal Erp29 domain has a 5-helical bundle fold. ERp29 is thought to form part of the thyroglobulin folding complex [[cite:PUB00015222]].

Cellular component | Endoplasmic reticulum | The irregular network of unit membranes, visible only by electron microscopy, that occurs in the cytoplasm of many eukaryotic cells. The membranes form a complex meshwork of tubular channels, which are often expanded into slitlike cavities called cisternae. The ER takes two forms, rough (or granular), with ribosomes adhering to the outer surface, and smooth (with no ribosomes attached). |
