CAND2 plays a role in plants and microbes interactions [[cite:PUB00093390]] and acts as a phytomelatonin receptor that regulates stomatal closure through the Galpha subunit-mediated H2O2 production and Ca2 flux dynamics [[cite:PUB00093392]].</p>
