IPR028211

Description

IPR028211 is a Pre-mRNA-splicing factor Ntr2.

This entry represents the pre-mRNA-splicing factor Ntr2.

In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Ntr1 and Ntr2 (nineTeen complex-Related proteins) formed a stable complex with DExD/H-box RNA helicase Prp43, which is involved in disassembly of the spliceosome and release of the excised intron in its branched, lariat form [[cite:PUB00067694]]. Ntr1 is required for the association of Prp43 with the excised intron complex prior to its release and recycling of the splicing factors [[cite:PUB00054039]]. Ntr2 can associate with late splicing complexes independently of Ntr1 but is not by itself sufficient to activate the intron release function of Prp43 [[cite:PUB00067694]].

Associated GO terms

GO predictions are based solely on the InterPro-to-GO mappings published by EMBL-EBI, which are in turn based on the mapping of predicted domains to the InterPro dataset. The InterPro-to-GO mapping was last updated on , while the GO metadata was last updated on .

GO term Namespace Name Definition Relationships
Biological process Spliceosomal complex disassembly Disassembly of a spliceosomal complex with the ATP-dependent release of the product RNAs, one of which is composed of the joined exons. In cis splicing, the other product is the excised sequence, often a single intron, in a lariat structure.
Cellular component U2-type post-mRNA release spliceosomal complex A spliceosomal complex that is formed following the release of the spliced product from the post-spliceosomal complex and contains the excised intron and the U2, U5 and U6 snRNPs.
