IPR016278

Description

IPR016278 is a Dual specificity protein phosphatase 12.

Human YVH1, also known as dual specificity phosphatase 12 (DUSP12), is a cell survival phosphatase that prevents both thermal and oxidative stress-induced cell death. Furthermore, it associates with multiple ribonucleoprotein particles and may affect a variety of fundamental cellular processes [[cite:PUB00085007]]. The enzyme is known as dual specificity protein phosphatase MPK-4 inDrosophila [[cite:PUB00085099]]. Yeast YVH1, on the other hand, is required for a late maturation step in the 60S biogenesis pathway [[cite:PUB00085008]].

Associated GO terms

GO predictions are based solely on the InterPro-to-GO mappings published by EMBL-EBI, which are in turn based on the mapping of predicted domains to the InterPro dataset. The InterPro-to-GO mapping was last updated on , while the GO metadata was last updated on .

GO term Namespace Name Definition Relationships
Biological process Protein dephosphorylation The process of removing one or more phosphoric residues from a protein.
Molecular function Protein tyrosine/serine/threonine phosphatase activity Catalysis of the reactions: protein serine + H2O = protein serine + phosphate; protein threonine phosphate + H2O = protein threonine + phosphate; and protein tyrosine phosphate + H2O = protein tyrosine + phosphate.
