IPR017562

Description

IPR017562 is a Cytochrome c-type biogenesis protein CcsA.

The CcsA protein family represents one of two essential proteins in system II c-type cytochrome biogenesis [[cite:PUB00043064]]. Additional proteins tend to be part of the system but can often be replaced by chemical reductants such as dithiothreitol. These proteins are often named CcsB in Bordetella and some other bacteria, ResC in Bacillus (where there is additional N-terminal sequence), while chloroplast proteins are consistently named CcsA.

Associated GO terms

GO predictions are based solely on the InterPro-to-GO mappings published by EMBL-EBI, which are in turn based on the mapping of predicted domains to the InterPro dataset. The InterPro-to-GO mapping was last updated on , while the GO metadata was last updated on .

GO term Namespace Name Definition Relationships
Biological process Cytochrome complex assembly The aggregation, arrangement and bonding together of a cytochrome complex. A cytochrome complex is a protein complex in which at least one of the proteins is a cytochrome, i.e. a heme-containing protein involved in catalysis of redox reactions.
