IPR039690

Description

IPR039690 is a U11/U12 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein 25kDa protein.

U11 and U12 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNPs) bind U12-type pre-mRNAs as a preformed di-snRNP complex, simultaneously recognizing the 5' splice site and branchpoint sequence. SNRNP25 is a component of the U11/U12 snRNP complex [[cite:PUB00082764], [cite:PUB00089982]]. Homologues are known from animals, plants and fungi.

Associated GO terms

GO predictions are based solely on the InterPro-to-GO mappings published by EMBL-EBI, which are in turn based on the mapping of predicted domains to the InterPro dataset. The InterPro-to-GO mapping was last updated on , while the GO metadata was last updated on .

GO term Namespace Name Definition Relationships
Biological process MRNA splicing, via spliceosome The joining together of exons from one or more primary transcripts of messenger RNA (mRNA) and the excision of intron sequences, via a spliceosomal mechanism, so that mRNA consisting only of the joined exons is produced.
Cellular component U12-type spliceosomal complex Any spliceosomal complex that forms during the splicing of a messenger RNA primary transcript to excise an intron; the series of U12-type spliceosomal complexes is involved in the splicing of the majority of introns that contain atypical AT-AC terminal dinucleotides, as well as other non-canonical introns. The entire splice site signal, not just the terminal dinucleotides, is involved in determining which spliceosome utilizes the site.
