IPR002734

Description

IPR002734 is a Bacterial bifunctional deaminase-reductase, C-terminal.

This domain is found in the C terminus of the bifunctional deaminase-reductase of Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis and other bacteria in combination with [interpro:IPR002125] that catalyses the second and third steps in the biosynthesis of riboflavin, i.e., the deamination of 2,5-diamino-6-ribosylamino-4(3H)-pyrimidinone 5'-phosphate (deaminase) and the subsequent reduction of the ribosyl side chain (reductase) [[cite:PUB00006368]]. The domain is also present in some HTP reductases from archaea and fungi.

Associated GO terms

GO predictions are based solely on the InterPro-to-GO mappings published by EMBL-EBI, which are in turn based on the mapping of predicted domains to the InterPro dataset. The InterPro-to-GO mapping was last updated on , while the GO metadata was last updated on .

GO term Namespace Name Definition Relationships
Molecular function 5-amino-6-(5-phosphoribosylamino)uracil reductase activity Catalysis of the reaction: 5-amino-6-(5-phosphoribitylamino)uracil + NADP(+) = 5-amino-6-(5-phosphoribosylamino)uracil + H(+) + NADPH.
Biological process Riboflavin biosynthetic process The chemical reactions and pathways resulting in the formation of riboflavin (vitamin B2), the precursor for the coenzymes flavin mononucleotide (FMN) and flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD).
Biological process Oxidation-reduction process A metabolic process that results in the removal or addition of one or more electrons to or from a substance, with or without the concomitant removal or addition of a proton or protons.
