IPR026182 is a Anaphase-promoting complex subunit 15.

Human ANAPC15 is a component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a cell cycle-regulated E3 ubiquitin ligase that controls progression through mitosis and the G1 phase of the cell cycle. In the complex, it plays a role in the release of the mitotic checkpoint complex (MCC) from the APC/C; it is not required for APC/C activity itself, but promotes the turnover of CDC20 and MCC on the APC/C, thereby participating to the responsiveness of the spindle assembly checkpoint. It also required for degradation of CDC20 [[cite:PUB00060168]].

GO term | Namespace | Name | Definition | Relationships |
---|---|---|---|---|
Cellular component | Anaphase-promoting complex | A ubiquitin ligase complex that degrades mitotic cyclins and anaphase inhibitory protein, thereby triggering sister chromatid separation and exit from mitosis. Substrate recognition by APC occurs through degradation signals, the most common of which is termed the Dbox degradation motif, originally discovered in cyclin B. | ||
Biological process | Regulation of mitotic cell cycle spindle assembly checkpoint | Any process that modulates the rate, frequency, or extent of the mitotic cell cycle spindle assembly checkpoint, a cell cycle checkpoint that delays the metaphase/anaphase transition of a mitotic nuclear division until the spindle is correctly assembled and chromosomes are attached to the spindle. |
