IPR020971

Description

IPR020971 is a ATP synthase, F1 beta subunit.

<p>F-type ATPases have 2 components, CF1 - the catalytic core - and CF0 - the membrane proton channel. CF1 has five subunits: alpha3, beta3, gamma1, delta1, epsilon1. CF0 has three main subunits: a, b and c. This entry represents the beta subunit of the F1 component.</p> <p>The NMR solution structure of the protein in SDS micelles was found to contain two helices, an N-terminal amphipathic α-helix and a C-terminal α-helix separated by a large unstructured internal domain. The N-terminal α-helix is the Tom20 receptor binding site whereas the C-terminal α-helix is located upstream of the mitochondrial processing peptidase cleavage site [[cite:PUB00030047]].</p>

Associated GO terms

GO predictions are based solely on the InterPro-to-GO mappings published by EMBL-EBI, which are in turn based on the mapping of predicted domains to the InterPro dataset. The InterPro-to-GO mapping was last updated on , while the GO metadata was last updated on .

GO term Namespace Name Definition Relationships
Cellular component Mitochondrial proton-transporting ATP synthase complex, catalytic core F(1) The catalytic sector of the mitochondrial hydrogen-transporting ATP synthase; it comprises the catalytic core and central stalk, and is peripherally associated with the mitochondrial inner membrane when the entire ATP synthase is assembled.
Molecular function ATP binding Interacting selectively and non-covalently with ATP, adenosine 5'-triphosphate, a universally important coenzyme and enzyme regulator.
Biological process ATP biosynthetic process The chemical reactions and pathways resulting in the formation of ATP, adenosine 5'-triphosphate, a universally important coenzyme and enzyme regulator.
Molecular function ATPase activity Catalysis of the reaction: ATP + H2O = ADP + phosphate + 2 H+. May or may not be coupled to another reaction.
