IPR040309

Description

IPR040309 is a H/ACA ribonucleoprotein complex non-core subunit Naf1.

Naf1 is an RNA-binding protein required for the maturation of box H/ACA snoRNPs complex and ribosome biogenesis. During assembly of the H/ACA snoRNPs complex, it associates with the complex, disappearing during maturation of the complex and being replaced by Gar1 to yield mature H/ACA snoRNPs complex. The core domain of Naf1 is homologous to the core domain of Gar1, suggesting that they share a common Cbf5 binding surface [[cite:PUB00049556]].

Associated GO terms

GO predictions are based solely on the InterPro-to-GO mappings published by EMBL-EBI, which are in turn based on the mapping of predicted domains to the InterPro dataset. The InterPro-to-GO mapping was last updated on , while the GO metadata was last updated on .

GO term Namespace Name Definition Relationships
Biological process Box H/ACA snoRNP assembly The aggregation, arrangement and bonding together of proteins and a box H/ACA snoRNA to form a box H/ACA small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein (snoRNP) complex.
Molecular function RNA binding Interacting selectively and non-covalently with an RNA molecule or a portion thereof.
Cellular component Small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein complex A ribonucleoprotein complex that contains an RNA molecule of the small nucleolar RNA (snoRNA) family and associated proteins. Most are involved in a step of processing of rRNA: cleavage, 2'-O-methylation, or pseudouridylation. The majority, though not all, fall into one of two classes, box C/D type or box H/ACA type.
Biological process Ribosome biogenesis A cellular process that results in the biosynthesis of constituent macromolecules, assembly, and arrangement of constituent parts of ribosome subunits; includes transport to the sites of protein synthesis.
