<p>These eukaryotic proteins recognise the poly-A of mRNA and consist of four tandem RNA recognition domains at the N terminus followed by a PABP-specific domain at the C terminus. The protein is involved in the transport of mRNAs from the nucleus to the cytoplasm [[cite:PUB00007959]]. There are four paralogs in Homo sapiens (Human) which are expressed in testis [[cite:PUB00007960]], platelets ([swissprot:Q13310] [[cite:PUB00007961]]), broadly expressed ([swissprot:P11940] [[cite:PUB00007959]]) and of unknown tissue range ([swissprot:Q15097]).</p>
