IPR012001 is a Thiamine pyrophosphate enzyme, N-terminal TPP-binding domain.
<p>A number of enzymes require thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP) (vitamin B1) as a cofactor. It has been shown [[cite:PUB00015103]] that some of these enzymes are structurally related. There are two different functional modules in the thiamin diphosphate-binding fold, the pyridine-binding (Pyr) and pyrophosphate-binding (PP) modules. This represents the N-terminal TPP-binding domain that in some members has been described as the Pyr-binding module.</p>
